Best practices for applying concrete oxide? Tuesday, February 11, 2025
Concrete oxide, also known as concrete oxide pigment, is a dry powder that adds color to concrete and other cement-based materials.
How to use: Mix concrete oxide into dry concrete mix, usually at a ratio of 1–3% oxide to the total amount of dry cement. The amount of oxide you add determines the shade of the concrete.
Color: The color of the concrete will vary depending on the amount of oxide added, and will be darker when wet and lighter when dry.
Safety: Wear safety glasses and a dust mask when handling concrete oxide. If the product gets in your eyes, wash your eyes with clean water and hold your eyelid open. If you inhale the product, move to fresh air.
Benefits: Concrete oxide is lightfast, odorless, UV stable, alkali and weather resistant, chemically inert, and water insoluble. It can be used on concrete, stucco, plaster, mortar, grout, countertop mix, and in the ceramic industry.
