This is used for the expansion gaps between floor to wall & wall to wall corners. It features a durable architectural aluminium base frame and cover which helps in avoiding leakages through the expansion joints. While it also improves the finishes of the expansion joints, it allows for contraction and expansion without affecting the joint profile finishes. Thanks to a snap fit design feature, it is perfect and easy for on-site assembly. The offset expansion joints are available in widths of 50mm, 100mm, 150mm and 200mm.

Installation Process for Expansion Joint

  1. Clean Surface: Thoroughly clean the 'mother slab' for 4 inches (100 mm) on either side of the expansion gap.
  2. Smooth Finish: Grind any uneven areas and smooth the surface. Use an air blower to remove dust.
  3. Apply Adhesive: Spread a thin coat of polymer-based adhesive from Arpitha Exports on the cleaned surface.
  4. Affix Waterproof Sheet: Press the PVC waterproof sheet firmly onto the adhesive, ensuring no air pockets.
  5. Install Plaster Mesh: Place 6 inches (150 mm) Arpitha Plaster Mesh over the waterproof sheet and nail it to the slab.
  6. Apply Cement Mortar: Cover with a thin coat of cement mortar and allow curing for 1-2 days.
  7. Fix Aluminium Profile: Attach the aluminium profile on both sides of the expansion joint with screws and cement mortar.
  8. Insert Expansion Pin: Insert the expansion pin through the slot in the fixed aluminium profiles.
  9. Place Aluminium Plate: Finally, position the aluminium plate from Arpitha Exports on top and secure it with the expansion pin.
